Understanding the Value of VMware

What is VMware and how can it help your online business? If you have ever heard the term “virtual” used in the context of a server or some sort of software then you are halfway to understanding the value of backup VMware for your business.  Basically backup VMware is software that takes a single machine and makes it work as if it were several.

For instance, the business that uses MAC OS for its designers but which also uses some sort of Windows based programming for its various other departments could actually run all of their software from a single server if a VMware solution were in place.

Where the backup VMware options come in handy is in protecting data by managing it at top speeds and across an array of platforms. Need an example? Let’s say that your company needs to backup massive amounts of information on a regular basis. Your standard option would involve a very long process of system review and rewriting before the information was absolutely secure. If you were doubly safe you might also opt to use some sort of offsite location and this would only further extend the amount of time required. When that data needed to be tested things could get even more disruptive because this generally causes serious server slowdown. Additionally, files of different types which require an assortment of operating systems in order to be readable would be unavailable for consolidation on such a server.

If, however, your company relied on backup VMware you could roll all of the backup information into a single location, and the software would ensure that each bit of data was kept in a separate location. This is often referred to as server consolidation, but it is really something only possible through virtual solutions that can make a single server the home to several different operating platforms.

This means that restoring data through a consolidated server would be just as easy as quickly sending the data for protection in the first place. This is especially true if there is some sort of event in which office or business hardware is damaged. Instead of tackling some sort of complex process of aligning the existing system with new hardware, the backup VMware would be able to communicate with any devices as if they had always belonged to the system.

Backing up business information of any kind should be worry and hassle free, and with the streamlining capabilities of virtual solutions this is possible.
